Lamont Lamar is a creative and post producer with an editorial eye and a deep understanding of fashion and consumer technology. He has spent his career working with high-profile brands, and today he works at MGX Creative, helping brands find innovative ways to reach their audiences through digital series and longer-form content.
His roots are in visual effects for traditional broadcast advertising at Ntropic in San Francisco, where every spot had to be locked, polished, and ready to air. At Giantstep, a Korea-based studio, he post produced VFX-heavy projects remotely from Los Angeles, learning how global markets think about consumers and staying close to cutting-edge technology. Each stop taught him something different about how a project holds together.
At MGX Creative, that became a way of working. He post produced Spotify’s Webby-winning Countdown To series for artists like Olivia Rodrigo and Gracie Abrams, Quavo, and Trueno. He also led post on the Levi’s campaign for the FIFA World Cup 26. A music series and a global sports campaign have little in common, except that both depend on one person making sure everything is delivered with the utmost care.
He gets there by looking closely at the systems, learning how each artist works, and meeting them where they are. His background in multimedia art, writing, and production means he can see how a decision in pre-production plays out in the final cut.
Based in Los Angeles, he hosts Traitors and Survivor-themed field days, practices sign language, builds furniture in his garage, and explores California’s national parks. He is happiest picking up a skill he doesn’t have yet.
